Here’s What Changed on October 1
No. The 70% THC cap on concentrates is gone. That includes extracts, oils, tinctures, shatter and wax. Flower is still capped at 35% THC. This means higher-potency concentrates are on the way.
New to high-potency concentrates? Start low. Go slow. Stronger concentrates hit differently, even for experienced consumers. Start with a small amount and give it time. Our budtenders can walk you through dosing, formats and what’s new.
One flat rate. Connecticut used to tax adult-use cannabis by the milligram of THC. Now the state cannabis tax is 10.75% of the price, whatever the potency.
The 6.35% state sales tax and 3% local cannabis tax still apply, for a combined 20.1%.
| Example: Tax on a $30 item | |
| Shelf price | $30.00 |
| State cannabis tax 10.75% | $3.23 |
| Sales Tax (6.35%) | $1.91 |
| Local Cannabis Tax (3%) | $0.90 |
| Total | $36.04 |
Medical patients are still exempt from the state cannabis tax.
Every product on our shelves is tested to Connecticut state standards. Our budtenders know the new rules and the new menu.
